Mars Drinks volunteer team makes the most of Summer

Posted at 09:00 in News Room : Mars Team news

Taking a break from vending machines, the Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP) team has recently been putting lots of effort in to fundraise and help out with a number of local causes.

To celebrate all the hard work we thought we’d give you a quick update with what they’ve achieved so far:

•    Making the most of the warm weather, the MVP team organised a charity carwash in their very own car park in Basingstoke to raise funds for a number of local causes. On the day 35 willing volunteers washed a total of 45 cars, raising a fantastic total of £241.

•    A charity library has been opened within the Mars Drinks™ offices which recycle books and DVD's. This is available for associates to bring in and borrow books for a small donation to charity.

•    As well as raising money for local causes, the MVP team introduced a clothes bank to help Mars Drinks employees reduce their carbon footprint as well as put their unwanted belongings to good use.

•    In another effort to raise funds, the team has been selling cases of FLAVIA® coffee internally. So far, over £1k has been raised since June!

Over June our MVP team also took part in team building days where they visited local charities to help out on site. We’re looking forward to bringing you more news on this soon!
