Working with Charities
Posted at 15:02 in Customer News : Mars Team news
At Mars Drinks we are always looking for ways to get involved with charities in our local community as well as supporting bigger causes nationally.
On February 1st, through the Mars Volunteer Programme, we are hosting an open day for some of the charities that we have supported over the last year. This will give Mars Drinks associates a chance to meet and find out more about these individual important causes.
By fostering closer relationships with these charities we hope to be able to help them, not only financially, but by giving our time and expertise where it is needed.
The Mars Volunteer Programme is just one of the ways that associates across the Mars business demonstrate their commitment to making a difference to people and the planet at grass roots level.
Finding ways to get involved and make a difference can take many forms. In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Mars, Incorporated announced that its business units had committed to donations totalling $475,000 towards the Haiti Relief Efforts.
The money is spread across the following areas: Red Cross, Search Dog Foundation, The American Veterinary Medical Foundation and Humane Society International.
“The hearts of Mars associates around the world go out to the people of Haiti,” said Paul S. Michaels, president and chief executive of Mars, Incorporated. “We are pleased that the efforts of our business units will make a difference in the lives of those that have suffered such a tragedy.”
To find out more about the Mars contribution to the Haiti Relief Efforts please read the press release available on the Mars corporate website.
