Working towards a sustainable future

Mars Inc. has made a commitment to ensure GALAXY milk chocolate bars will carry the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal in the UK & Ireland as of 2010 (that will mean 160 million chocolate bars!).
As part of the Mars organisation, Mars Drinks has also made a commitment – to ensure that 30% of our drinks range will be sustainably sourced by the end of 2010 and supporting our ongoing Thirsty for Change programme.
A lot of progress is already underway, as a number of our FLAVIA range of drinks now contain coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. As more coffee and cocoa farms achieve Rainforest Alliance certification, more land is cultivated using sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and improve the livelihoods of farm families. All extremely positive for ensuring a sustainable future!
And that’s not forgetting our FLAVIA Kenya coffee, which we source directly from a cooperative in Kenya as part of the Mars Drinks Brighter Tomorrow at Origin initiative. We’re continuing to look for ways to enhance our sustainable practices and how we work with you.
