Good sports at Mars Drinks fundraise for charity

There must be something extra special in our coffee vending machines here at Mars Drinks. Recently many of our associates have been inspired to take part in some exhaustingly energetic fundraising activities!
In a bid to raise funds for some incredibly worthy causes, Mars Drinks associates here in Basingstoke have been cycling, running and generally wearing themselves out all in the name of charity.
In aid of Cancer Research, our lucky team member Richard Bond got the chance to lie back and relax as some of his male colleagues completed the challenge of carrying his very “delicate frame” on a stretcher around a 5KM course. After completing the challenge in 47 minutes, all the guys agreed that it was worth the aching muscles as they managed to raise a fantastic £320!
In addition, Mars Drinks associates were excited to get involved with the Sport Relief 2010 campaign. Our office was buzzing as everyone joined in with many activities and games, from the Wii Hula Hoop challenge to a paper bin basketball shootout. There were a few hardcore team members who took part in a challenging seven hour cycling marathon. One very energetic team member even took on the astonishing task of cycling for 12 hours on her spinning bike. All the hard work and energy was worth it as the current total of funds raised for Sport Relief stands at over £1,256!
Here at Mars Drinks we’re so proud of all our associates - they never shy away from a challenge, especially when it enables them to contribute to some great charities.
