Charity Open Day at Mars Drinks

We were really pleased to start the year with an open day attended by some of the charities we have been supporting.
With our focus on youth, environment and animal welfare, we were able to host the Shaw Trust, Sebastian’s Action Trust and Berkshire’s National Animal Welfare Trust.
Having worked with each of these charities through the Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP), Mars Drinks was delighted to offer its associates the opportunity to meet with the people behind the charities. The day gave associates the ability to chat informally with each individual charity and find out more about how they could get involved through the MVP.
MVP is an ongoing volunteer initiative for Mars associates and is a great way to thank and contribute to the local community. The programme is inspired by the company’s Five Principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Freedom and Efficiency.
As well as raising money and awareness for the charities through the MVP, associates are able to get involved in hands on activities and give support at a grass roots level - from building fences and flowerbeds to dog walking and room painting.
Getting involved in these extremely worthwhile activities also gives Mars Drinks associates the chance to spend some off-site time with other members of their team and have some fun in the process.

Shaw Trust is a national charity that provides training and employment services to thousands of disabled and disadvantaged people each year.
Sebastian’s Action Trust provides holiday homes and practical support for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Berkshire’s National Animal Welfare Trust provides a uniquely tranquil environment for elderly animals or animals that are finding it hard to cope elsewhere.
