Mars Volunteer Programme
Posted at 16:10 in Customer News : Mars Team News
The Mars Volunteer Programme (MVP) is an exciting and worthwhile initiative which gives Mars Associates the chance to really make a difference in the community, both locally and nationally.
The programme revolves around supporting four main themes: Youth Enrichment, Hunger Relief, Animal Welfare and the Environment. Over the last few years Mars Drinks has supported five key national charities and through various fundraising events has raised thousands of pounds for Children in Need, Comic Relief, Jeans for Genes, Sport Relief and Wear it Pink. As well as supporting national charities, the MVP also works to support local initiatives and recently volunteers rolled up their sleeves and helped out in a variety of ways.
Highlights included, ‘The Big Sleepout’ in Winchester where volunteers slept outside over night and sold FLAVIA drinks to raise money for local homeless charities, Forestry Trust fencing projects, as well as supporting ‘Sebastian’s Action Trust’ children’s cancer charity by clearing and helping to renovate six Isolation Rooms at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
The MVP has achieved so much already this year, and with many new plans in place we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
